So here comes the end of 2023! And what a year it was for us! Looking back over the last 12 months we have had some absolutely incredible moments at the BBB+Afterparty and for that we want to thank you! To all of our talented traders new and old, the passionate performers, the wonderful workshop hosts, the committed crew members and of course all you awesome attendees! Here's some of the highlights from 2023:
JAN
We kicked off the year with our “be more bizarre” theme! We saw handmade outfits in our best dressed, MistressKrush took our side stage and RipperMoff dazzled us with a touch of taboo!
FEB
We had an incredible day at the BBB and you all fully embraced the “love thyself” theme. This was also the chaos month, we tried a new venue for our afterparty! Some bits worked, some bits didn't, we nearly killed our crew but we had some lovely feedback! This is definitely the month our crew remember most!
MAR
We saw the biggest best dressed line up we have ever seen as you took to the “movie madness” theme with gusto! We had our first ever latex mario, who of course, won! We also returned home for our Afterparty and you showed us which venue you preferred as we saw HUGE numbers!
APR
VIKINGS! Our most requested theme finally hit and oh valhalla was it good! Once again we had a huge best dressed competition! We welcomed Allouetta La Zouch to our stage and shared in a goosebump-inducing exclusive performance…Boudicca ... .ROAR! Enough said. Mist3rBee took you through the pleasures and pains of pressure points at our Afterparty and you carried the viking spirit all night long!
MAY
Birmingham was rainbow central for pride month! We shared our love and colours at the BBB and treated you to not one but two performers! RipperMoff took us through taboo once more and MarnieScarlet brought her feisty and fabulous self as the Queen of hearts! Education evolution took to discussions as we welcomed RipperMoff with The GenderBread Experience! May also saw the BBB head to Birmingham Pride once again, this time taking a stall within the main Smithfield site! We danced, handed out thousands of flyers, got sunburned and had a wonderful weekend spreading our bizarre love!
JUN
June saw capes flapping for our heroes and villains theme! Once again you took over the stage with your glorious selves and we loved it! BellaDonna teased us with her comic character themed performances and for our featured demo/workshop we got to enjoy the delicate trembling flower of submission that is Mollena ena, all the way from the USA! Edge play was the topic of discussion and there was a buzz of excitement at the Afterparty from those who follow her online.
JUL
Was a hot one! Despite the boiling temperatures we had to admire our in house munch LatexDevotion and their commitment to their love! Many a latex clad body wandered round our Summer Fair theme at the BBB! Alwayspurple took us through all the fancy flogging at the fair and her workshop at the Afterparty was packed!
AUG
One of our favourite themes from 2022 so we brought it back and once again you proved that heaven and hell are both places on earth, Gods and Goddesses was our August theme! The outfits were incredible and it was a very busy month for us, we had UV areas, impact workshops and once again…boiling temperatures!
SEP
Our happy birthday month! 24 years young! Thanks to you wonderful lot we celebrated in style, wonderful wax, living mic stands and the glorious bambi bang bang!
OCT
This was the big one for us…Birmingham fetish weekend. Not content with a simple Sunday shift, we gave you three days, five experiences all over one incredible weekend! The outfits, dear goddess the outfits, the djs, the first ever bootblack contest, the hosts, the togs, the performances and the first ever BBB awards! It was an amazing weekend and we cannot wait to do it again next year (Dates: Nov 15/16/17 2024, details and tickets to come)
NOV
Leather and Latex is one of our favourites and clearly yours too! The building was buzzing and the outfits were glorious shiny, especially those who had visited the bootblacks stands! The UK KRuel Leather Family took to our workshop space for their annual whipboxing and you tried, laughed, failed, tried again and eventually found a winner! November also meant it was time for the UKFetishAwards and this year Birmingham meant business. There were so many people who have been a part of the BBB at one point or another who put themselves forward for the competition and between us all we covered pretty much every category! With love and thanks to all of you who voted, the BBB+Afterparty took the title of best fetish event for the second year running!
DEC
Was our final hurrah of the year, our kinkmas month! We love love love christmas and kink so combining the two is always a win! We did our BBBIG giveaway and passed parcels round the entire ground floor and heard chorus’s of “FUCK ALL!”. We had a proposal on stage as well as a cookie monster! We gave away so many prizes and for our Himbo's fundraiser we took our total to £2204! The Afterparty kicked off with the talents of DJ Paul Andrews in our dj booth. Speed friending and negotiations with Tara Red was buzzing! The Matriarchy was packed with Hosts, Guest and visiting Queens and the fire and rope performances brought our evening stages to light and life! You made it the office Christmas party like no other!
And those are just the highlights!
TRADERS
This year we welcomed many new traders through our doors but we also said goodbye to a few. We said goodbye to CeremonyLeather, they are still trading but sadly we are a bit far for them, PrincessPankeeki did her last month with us before heading off on her big adventure and December saw us say goodbye to a staple of the BBB, Terri's Corsets & Lingerie who had been with the BBB since it first started! They too have not ceased trading but will be staying a little closer to home. We wish them all the best of luck on their continued journeys!
To all of those who traded with us this year and those looking at 2024 with us, thank you for everything that you do, for everything you bring to the day. Not just your beautiful stalls but your beautiful selves too!

We could not be prouder or more grateful for our wonderful team of crew and volunteers that help us make some absolutely wonderful (totally bonkers) ideas come true. These people put their time, passion and love into everything they do with us and we just want to thank them all once again for an amazing year! Here's to doing it all again and more next year?
